Overview of Placement: Overview of Placement: DEOTS can offer a structured program for students to observe and experience a wide range of Australian Defence Force (ADF) explosive ordnance career related activities in an instructional environment. Students will have the opportunity to witness various outdoor activities of explosive ordnance demonstrations from a safe distance and to experience techniques in disposing explosive ordnance in different training environments. Students will have the opportunity to visit various workshop areas in Orchard Hills and may visit various areas of interests at RAAF Base Richmond. It is expected for students to arrive on time at 8:00am Monday to Friday and finish at 4:15pm each day except Friday when there will be a 12:00pm finish. Parents and guardians are cordially invited to witness their student perform a workplace experience group presentation on the last day (Friday) at 11:00am. During this time it is also a good opportunity for parents/guardians and students to talk to service people regarding any aspects of joining the Air Force.
Special Conditions of Placement: DEOTS will only accept students who have the highest interests in pursuing an Air Force career in an explosive ordnance field. They must be 16 years or over at the commencement of placement. This is a highly sought after work experience program and applicants need to be aware that selection is based on keenness and strong interests. Applications for both intakes will not be accepted after 27th April 2012.

This form must be submitted to your school work experience coordinator for submission to Defence. Confirmation of your application will be provided to your school work experience coordinator.
