Overview of Placement: A program of mainly indoor activities providing participants with an insight into a wide range of Army Band activities. Commencing at approx. 8:30am and finishing at 4:00pm each day. Due to the diverse nature of unit activities there are times when the unit will perform in the evenings, participants will be encouraged to attend these performance opportunities. Participants will have the opportunity to witness the diverse role of an Army Musician and experience a series of activities under close supervision of highly professional Defence personnel. Insights into administration, Big Band rehearsals, Rock Band and smaller ensemble rehearsal opportunities and other specialisations offered. For more information got to www.army.gov.au/AABC
Special Conditions of Placement: AMEB Grade 6 or equivalent. Participants must be able to perform on an instrument of the Big Band and Rock Band (Saxophones, trumpets, trombones, rhythm section {bass, drums, vocals, guitar, piano}).

Other instruments such as orchestral woodwind, low brass and orchestral percussion may be able to attend work experience at The Band of the Royal Military College, Duntroon, Canberra.
