Unit Commander

Your unit/sub-unit commander(s) and unit administration staff can provide you with a great deal of information to assist you in your considerations as to whether you might choose to separate from the ADF or not.

You should make sure you are fully informed about recent initiatives to enhance and support retention, such as Completion Bonuses, so that whatever decision you ultimately make, you make your decision with the best current advice available.  Unit staff can also put you in contact with staff within the relevant areas of your Career Management Agency who can also advise you.

Should you ultimately decide to move on from the Permanent Force, your unit staff can provide you with a range of information about the various resources and support services that are provided to assist you with your planned transition from Defence.

Speak to your commander/unit admin staff early in your considerations so that you leave yourself maximum time to prepare and, where eligible, utilise the support services available.

Unit Information Visits

Contact your nearest ADF Transition Centre (ADFTC).

The ADFTCs' offer briefings and information sessions either at the ADFTC or at the Unit location. It is well worth attending an information session even if you are only considering your options as you will learn about a range of transition support measures that are available.
