Based on Austal's proven fast ferry technology, High Speed Military Support Vessels such as the US Marines' 101-metre catamaran “WestPac Express” are helping to change the way militaries get to the fight, proving to be faster and more economical than airlift.

Twice as fast as conventional ships, Austal's vessels can also get closer to the fight thanks to their shallow draught. This means they can discharge troops and equipment at the most rudimentary ports, even lagoons and beaches.

In addition to fast sealift, Austal's designs can be used for amphibious assault support, helicopter operations, search and rescue, command and control and humanitarian relief operations.

Designs including Theater Support and Multi-role vessels are available across a broad size and capability range.
