underwater recovery (Cormorant Lift Bag)
The LSA Cormorant Lift Bag (CLB) was developed for the Royal Australian Navy for recovery of underwater ordinance.
The CLB has the capability of lifting a 1000kg object from a depth of between 5 and 90 metres and is operated acoustically, sending commands and receiving information, from up to a kilometre away.
A recent trial of the CLB prototype was an unprecedented success resulting in the RAN ordering 11 units to be delivered in November 2004.
The LSA CLB has received favourable interest from various navies worldwide, particularly from the United States, Singapore, Denmark and Japan.
