simulation - PC-based simulators

PC-based simulators can be a valuable element of a technical training solution. Using real equipment is often infeasible or prohibitively expensive (both in terms of initial cost and operating cost). Other issues can include inflexibility of delivery location, limitations on course size and throughput, and limitations on learning opportunities due to safety or maintenance restrictions.

Scientific Management Associates (SMA) produces cost-effective, PC-based simulators that can be used as a supplement or as an alternative to real equipment. Our most recent e-classroom was developed to support individualised Operational Level Maintenance training on a range of complex electronic and mechanical systems. In addition to presenting traditional theory teaching, the system provides maintenance simulators of sonar, radar and IFF equipment fitted to the ANZAC frigates.

By supporting training in system operation, fault finding and maintenance, this system provides both affordable training and reduced duration courses.
