secure optical switch
The Secure Optical Switch provides a secure switching capability for a single node to be switched between networks of different security classification while maintaining complete isolation between security domains within the switch.
The Secure Optical Switch is a five pole four position optical switch with Trusted optical indication of the switch position.
- The switch is Trusted to provide connection only to the system displayed by the switch position indicator
- Each domain may have up to five separate bi-directional communication channels.
- The switch is Trusted not to have any failure mode in which security domain isolation is compromised
- Multiplexes up to four security domains onto a single five channel connection
- Each data path through the secure optical switch is considered to be completely isolated from other data paths within the switch
- The switch is Trusted to maintain inter-domain isolation between the four connected systems regardless of whether the switch is on, off or failed
- Provides Trusted switching capability between Top Secret through to Unclassified security domains
- The Secure Optical Switch has undergone a DSD High Grade Evaluation
- The Secure Optical Switch is in the final stages of a Common Criteria EAL 7 Certification.
|
- Extremely high Trusted isolation between internal security domains
- The switch provides optical paths for data. The switch does not require or impose any data format requirements on the data streams transmitted through the switch itself.
- The Secure Optical Switch has bee approved for use on secure systems by the Australian Defence Force
- With appropriated external interfacing the Secure Optical Switch is suitable for a wide range of secure communication applications.
