radar - surface-wave extended coastal area (SECAR)

A new sensor is now available that offers greatly improved efficiencies in the surveillance of offshore waters and the airspace above them.

SECAR (Surface-wave Extended Coastal Area Radar) is a surface-wave radar which offers a capability to immediately enhance air and marine border security, at a lower cost than traditional means.

Positioned on the shoreline and using the HF spectrum, SECAR's field of view extends over the ‘visible' horizon. It projects a wall of energy that extends from the ocean surface to the ionosphere, and travels away from the coastline, detecting both ships and aircraft up to 200 nautical miles away and beyond.

Working for the Australian Government, Daronmont has installed, activated and supports a radar site in the north of Australia.

SECAR is fully developed and available now.
