minesweeping drones - autonavigational minesweeping control system (AMCS)
The Autonavigational Minesweeping Control System is a unique, multi-purpose remote control system for unmanned littoral water minesweeping operations.
The AMCS is designed for rapid deployment. A containerised mobile land base station or ship-based management system is used to control one or more precursor minesweeping vessels fitted with AMCS.
Track lines prepared on the base station are transmitted via radio to the vessel. The vessel then executes the pre-programmed sweep. Accurate GPS data allows the vessel track line to be replayed or plotted for post-mission analysis, vital to minesweeping operations.
In addition to monitoring the vessel direction, speed and depth under the keel every few seconds, engine performance data is also transmitted back to the base for maintenance purposes.
AMCS reduces danger to personnel and minesweeping vessels by providing remote control and monitoring of pre-cursor sweeps.
The AMCS is currently in use with the Royal Australian Navy and United Arab Emirates Navy.
