marker buoy and retrieval system (Fiobuoy submersible)
The Fiobuoy® is a robust submersible marine marker buoy and retrieval system. It secures valuable and high-security equipment on the seabed without using a telltale or surface marker buoy.
The Australian Defence Force and other defence and research institutions around the world routinely use the Fiobuoy. It is used to covertly mark cleared amphibious landing lanes, as well as in mine warfare exercises where it allows the safe retrieval of practice mines and missiles. The Fiobuoy can also be utilised as a working platform and housing for additional equipment.

The Fiobuoy® is the world's first fully submersible and retrievable marine marker buoy. It is specifically designed to keep assets and equipment secure underwater, and allow for their safe and economical retrieval. By removing surface markers, the Fiobuoy protects your assets from both theft and damage, and compared with diving capabilities, provides for greater deployment depths. |
The Fiobuoy® is available in two models: Time/Date and Acoustic. The Time/Date model allows for pre-programming of release, whereas the Acoustic model incorporates a sophisticated two-way spread-spectrum acoustic data link, giving 'on demand' retrieval or system status reporting. |
