hydrographic management system

The Tenix Hydrographic Management System (THMS) enables a hydrographic authority (HA) to accept, store and process hydrographic data in a seamless spatial database.

The THMS allows users to perform hydrographic tasks including registration and evaluation of survey material, assessment and storage of hydrographic features in a validated database, production of paper and electronic sea charts. The THMS is an integrated system which provides audit capabilities, workflow management and other business management facilities.

The THMS solves common HA operational issues and provides tangible benefits to the HA and its customers by facilitating digital provision and management of hydrographic data and products

THMS benefits:

  • improved safety: promote safety and protect life at sea through improved data integrity
  • internal flexibility: improve efficiency and handle ever-increasing quantities of data
  • improved customer service: facilitate improvement in customer service and product delivery
  • reduce bottlenecks: fast and controlled access to vast amounts of validated data without the need to refer back to source data
  • continuous support for products and services: provide continuous support to customers and end-users for existing and new products and services.
  • business agility: create an adaptable and flexible operational environment

The THMS was delivered to the Australian Hydrographic Office in June 2004 and is the first integrated large-scale hydrographic management system in the world.
