Micreo develops and manufactures products for international aerospace and telecommunications OEMs.
For the electronic warfare market, Micreo designs and manufactures a range of 'front end' microwave receiver and transmitter parts, operating over instantaneous bandwidths of up to 40GHz. These include building blocks such as frequency converters, amplifiers, filters, oscillators and switches and their associated bias and control circuitry.
Products also include optical modulators and photodetectors for transmitting and receiving 40GHz signals in optical fibres. A major part of the product designs is the mechanical design associated with the packaging of circuitry to meet extreme environmental conditions over periods of up to thirty years.
In the telecommunications field, Micreo is developing products for supply into the next generation of long haul optical communications equipment, operating at data rates up to 40Gbits/s. The technology developed in the defence market is being used to produce modulators, photo detectors and amplifiers.
