Compucat's Battlefield EW Target Simulator

electronic warfare - battlefield EW target simulator (BEWTS)

The Battlefield EW Target Simulator (BEWTS) is a small, lightweight, low-powered unit that provides a radio frequency target for electronic warfare and communications operators. With a low acquisition cost it could be considered expendable in certain field situations.

BEWTS can be pre-programmed to provide EW operators and trainers with a:

  • radio frequency (RF) target simulator
  • training tool
  • calibration tool
  • imitative or manipulative electronic deception capability
  • low-power communications jamming (unattended nuisance jamming)

BEWTS provides:

  • a realistic training tool for communications intercept operator training
  • a target for the calibration and confidence check of equipment such as radio direction finders (DF)
  • replay of any language over the air for realistic mission simulation
  • multiple choice of transmission types for variation in training

Key benefits:

  • configurable for a wide variety of applications or scenarios
  • very simple to use - thus low training overhead
  • economical - expensive resources such as radio operators/detachments are not required to provide training or calibration targets
  • small and lightweight
  • low cost
  • upgrades and user-definable requirements are easily implemented
  • transmission distance can be intentionally limited if required
  • up to 1,000 programmable transmission segments

Company

BEWTS is available to consumers where a through air Radio Frequency Target is needed for training, calibration or other related uses. BEWTS autonomously provides transmissions on specified frequencies with varied modulation (or multiples thereof) at exact dates and times required. BEWTS is currently filed for Patent in the US, UK, Canada and Australia.
