The increased need for Network Centric Warfare (NCW) capabilities by defence forces now requires Lead Systems Integrator (LSI) capabilities to address the System-of-Systems attributes and complexities inherent in NCW-type acquisitions. Boeing Australia is investing heavily in the enhancement of its LSI capabilities to become a leader. This enhancement is complemented by the development of organisational capabilities such as workforce development and training, the development of specialised processes such as System-of-Systems Engineering, and the deployment of specialised technologies such as the Strategic Architectures Reference Model.
