The Australian Ballistic Laboratory (ABL) is a modern, state-of-the-art ballistic research and testing facility that specialises in the testing of all types of hard and soft armour for military, law enforcement and civilian applications. ABL is a privately-owned and operated Australian company, located in Southport, approximately 80km south of Brisbane. We extend an open invitation to all companies interested in utilising ABL services to inspect our facilities. |
ABL is accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) to conduct certified testing in accordance with National Institute of Justice standards which are recognised worldwide as the most accepted standard for the testing of armour. Other standards are available upon request.

All testing is conducted in our 20m, indoor range that is specially controlled for both temperature and humidity. All ammunition used in testing is assembled in-house by trained personnel to exacting standards. We have the ability to test a wide range of materials such as glass, aluminium, steel and composites which has enabled us to service clients in the marine, aviation and building industries. |
