ADA Composite Armour's lightweight Kuwarri® armour incorporates advanced reaction sintered silicon carbide ceramic technology and is a world leader in protection. ADA has developed a complete range of Kuwarri hard armour for personnel protection and military platforms.

Kuwarri reaction-sintered silicon carbide/reaction-sintered boron carbide provides major advantages over traditional materials. They have a bulk density less than three-quarters that of aluminium oxide and more than twice the hardness. Armour is backed using a new proprietary process and subjected to extensive independent testing. Personal protection is designed for maximum safety, comfort and mobility even in extremes of climate.

Kuwarri armour provides protection against 5.56mm SS109, 7.62mm M80 NATO ball, 7.62 x 39mm API (AK47), 7.26 x 51 FFV, 30-06 APM2 and many others.

Advantages of reaction sintered silicon carbide are:

• up to 50% lighter than current materials
• zero porosity (maximises ballistic performance)
• zero shrinkage (precision products)
• can be welded (tiles joined during firing stage)
• can be pre-cut and shaped (cut-outs, holes)

ADA composite armour has been supplied to: NSW Police, Queensland Police, Australian Army, Royal Australian Air Force, Indonesian Army, Royal Thai Army, London Metropolitan Police and West Yorkshire Police. We have an award pending with the US Army for Small Arms Protective Inserts.
