airborne sonobuoy data recorder (SDR-4)

The Sonartech Atlas SDR-4 data recorder provides high density, high fidelity recording for up to 32 sonobuoy streams, up to 4 intercom channels and a tactical data stream.

All data is recorded in a single, random access, multiplexed and time coherent digital data file that is written to removable data storage media based on either a HDD or flash memory module.

The SDR-4 can be configured to accept sonobuoy data from analogue sonobuoys, in which case it conducts A to D conversion where necessary, or from digital sonobuoys through the use of a Software Defined Sonobuoy Receiver .
The SDR-4 can interface to a tactical data bus system based on either a Mil-Std 1553 or Ethernet connection.

The SDR-4 has been tested to meet all the environmental requirements for installation into the Australian Maritime Patrol Aircraft, P-3 Orion.
