acoustic and tactical data replay - FTAPS - Fast Time Acoustic Processing System (secondary analysis)

The Sonartech ATLAS Fast Time Acoustic Processing System (FTAPS) is an acoustic secondary analysis system that takes acoustic, tactical and ICS data, recorded during an operational sortie, and recovers, processes and displays the data at high speed to allow a secondary analyst, or analysts, to reconstruct aspects of the sortie and derive information that may have been missed/overlooked during the actual prosecution.

DescriptionPertinent information

The operational requirements which FTAPS is designed to meet are listed below:
Acoustic Search

  • Confirm No Acoustic Contact
  • Validation of Acoustic Contacts
  • Analysis of Acoustic Contacts

Target Track Reconstruction

Exercise Reconstruction

Analysis tools are provided to permit a significant level of control over the processing of the data as well as the manipulation and formatting of the resulting displays.

FTAPS will process at 16X real time (16 DIFAR buoys) and provide data storage management of raw and processed acoustic and tactical data. Once the high speed data extraction and initial processing has occurred, ultra-fast (in excess of 200X real-time) processing can be conducted on identified streams/sections of data.
Data previously processed is available for almost instant display.
Full tactical replay is provided to ensure a context sensitive analysis capability is available.
MIL STD 1553B or SONIX tactical data formats can be accepted.
