Permo-Drive Technologies Ltd

Permo-Drive Technologies Limited (Permo-Drive) is an Australian public company situated in Ballina, NSW, Australia.

Permo-Drive has developed and patented a hydraulic regenerative drive system (RDSTM) that adapts commercial off the shelf, hydraulic technology integrated with its proprietary electronic control system to harness previously wasted braking energy in vehicles.

Permo-Drive built its first ‘proof of concept' model in 1999 after receiving Australian Government financial support. In 2002 performance trials of the prototype technology and fuel economy testing was completed at Evans Head Proving Ground, Australia, confirming the potential of the RDS.

Permo-Drive established a permanent US office in Michigan in July 2002 and has signed a co-operative research and development agreement with the US Army. The RDS technology was then successfully ‘concept tested' by the USA military on a FMTV military truck in 2003 and will soon be undergoing extensive pre production engineering, validation and durability testing at the Army's Aberdeen test center.
