GPS integration solutions

Rockwell Collins Australia has provided a large range of military grade GPS solutions to the Australian and New Zealand defence forces. Rockwell Collins Australia has developed integration solutions for a range of platforms including armoured vehicles and naval vessels using GPS products from Rockwell Collins Inc.

The armoured vehicle integrations are fully ruggedised and provide the vehicle operator with detailed navigation information to guide the vehicle to the destination via a predefined path.

The naval vessel integrations, in addition to providing basic navigation functions, also supplied precise GPS time and position information to a range of ships systems.

Options include advanced capabilities which offer enhanced accuracy by providing corrections for platform motion and antenna offsets using information from the ships inertial sensors.

Fully redundant systems also provide reliable GPS time and position information to ships critical systems.

A large number of solutions are currently installed on Australian Army Armoured vehicles and a range of Navy ships and vessels. The capability is continuing to be developed to support evolving GPS technologies and systems requirements.
