Outreach
In 2004 the United Nations Security Council adopted Resolution 1540, which requires all member States 'to develop appropriate ways to work with and inform industry and the public regarding their obligations', as a result the Government had directed that export controls be strengthened. DECO has responded by enhancing its Outreach Program, which is integral to raising awareness and educating exporters about their obligations. The Outreach Program has introduced a number of new initiatives to assist exporters.
