Christmas Close Down Notification

As part of the Defence-wide Christmas stand down, the Defence Export Control Office (DECO) will be closed from 4.30pm Wednesday 23 December 2009, re-opening Monday 4 January 2010.

Exporters and importers should be aware that applications received after 1 December 2009 are unlikely to be finalised prior to the Christmas close down.

DECO Practitioner Workshops - October - November 2009

DECO Outreach will facilitate Practitioner Workshops in Canberra, Melbourne and Brisbane during October and November 2009. Practitioner Workshops are designed to raise awareness of Australian export controls and are open to industry representatives and Government personnel involved in exporting defence and dual-use goods.

The schedule of Practitioner Workshops to be held in October and November is now available. If you are involved in the process of exporting defence or dual-use goods we encourage you to come along to one of these free workshops.

To assist DECO in planning workshops in Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart and Darwin the Outreach team is now calling for Expressions of Interest.

Change to Licence and Permit Conditions

DECO introduced minor changes to the conditions attached to permits and licences issued from 03 February 2009. These changes require the reporting of some additional information when lodging quarterly or half-yearly reports. DECO requests that reports be provided only via email. Reporting templates can be found on the forms/applications page.
