    Strategy Executive develops military strategy and strategic policy to provide a framework for the development of future Defence capability, and to support ADF deployments, operations, and exercises. Strategy Executive manages Defence international engagement, Australia's expanding counter-proliferation efforts and supports Australia's relationships with overseas Defence partners through our network of attaches and liaison officers.

    Strategy Executive advertises civilian positions regularly in the national press, drawing people from a wide array of disciplines including arts, law, economics, engineering, political science and the physical sciences. Particular emphasis is placed on written and oral communication skills, sound conceptual and analytical skills, and good judgement. Strategy Executive seeks to increase its intake of tertiary graduates through both the Defence Graduate Development Program and direct recruitment. Strategy Executive has also a number of past graduates who have progressed rapidly into management positions.

    Military postings to Strategy Executive are managed through the career management agencies of the three Services (Navy, Army and Air Force). More ADF career information is available through the Defence Jobs web page.
