When supporting an ADF member through an incident of sexual misconduct:

  • Remember the member is not to blame.
  • Believe them, listen and respond with compassion.
  • Offer support, such as medical or counselling.
  • Encourage them to contact SeMPRO so that their timely and ongoing professional support can be coordinated.

You also have mandatory reporting requirements to ADFIS or the State/Territory police.

  • Believe them, listen and respond with compassion.
  • Offer support, such as the Employee Assistance Program.

You may also have mandatory reporting requirements to the State/Territory police and/or Code of Conduct delegate.
