The 2017-18 Defence Corporate Plan has been developed in accordance with Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act) requirements.
It sets out the Defence purposes (as defined by the PGPA Act) and the activities Defence will undertake during 2017-2021 to achieve the purposes and to manage enterprise risks. The plan covers four financial years and is updated at least annually or when there are significant changes to Defence's operational environment.
The Corporate Plan also describes how Defence will build organisational capability to support our national security interests and promote them in a region that is growing more complex and dynamic, as described in the 2016 Defence White Paper. Defence will report against the intended results in the 2017-18 Defence Corporate Plan through annual performance statements to be included in the Defence Annual Report for 2017-18.
