Recruit instructor disability allowance

You may get recruit instructor disability allowance if you are a qualified recruit instructor posted to 1st Recruit Training Battalion. It makes up for:

  • long hours
  • adverse working conditions, and/or
  • loss of regular contact with your family for long periods.

Who can get recruit instructor disability allowance?

You may get recruit training disability allowance if you are a member of the:

  • Permanent Forces, or
  • Reserves on continuous full-time service.

When can I get recruit instructor disability allowance?

You may get recruit training disability allowance if you:

  • hold the rank of Lance Corporal, Corporal or Sergeant
  • are posted to a recruit instructor position at 1st Recruit Training Battalion
  • are qualified, and
  • are likely to instruct regularly.

You may get an annual rate of allowance.

Can I get other allowances at the same time?

If you get recruit instructor disability allowance, you may get other allowances at the same time.
