Lieutenant Marine Technician Lindsay Gordon

Port Lincoln, where his parents still reside.

SPORTS:
Lindsay is a keen sports participant. He really enjoys Tennis and Golf.

DATE JOINED THE RAN:
Lindsay joined the RAN straight after attending Adelaide University. He graduated with an Engineering and Science Degree.

TRAINING: The first lot of training as a Midshipman was onboard HMAS Canberra and Newcastle and finally got onto Submarines in 2006.

JOB INVOLVEMENT:
Lindsay is now the Assistant Marine Engineering Officer for HMAS Waller. He is responsible for all mechanical and electrical systems to be maintained.  Onboard the ship, Lindsay has a working team under him to achieve a working and functional Submarine.

TRIPS:
Visit to Port Lincoln as part of HmAS Waller Safety workshop.
Hawaii, Middle East, Sri Lanka, Singapore, New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu and Tasmania.

LOVE OF THE JOB:
‘I think my job is challenging and fun. “It’s been woking holiday” in lots of places around the world. Submarines are a demanding, but rewarding engineering environment.’ He said.

‘I spend a lot of time away from my hometown of Port Lincoln, but recently visited for a 10 year school reunion.
