Eddard Buenaobra - Bexley’s Battle Group Soldier

Bexley’s Eddard Buenaobra, 33, is now managing our Diggers’ transport in southern Iraq. Now promoted to Lance Corporal, he’s the Assistant Transport Supervisor for the Australian Battle Group at Camp Terendak, in Dhi Qar province.

Eddard’s platoon provides logistics support and transport for the 516 Diggers in the Battle Group, and keeps the combat teams supplied with fuel and stores while they are on patrol.

Some 1400 members of the Australian Defence Forces are now on duty in the Middle East as part of Operation Catalyst, the Australian Government’s contribution to the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Iraq. Working with the Iraqi Government and coalition forces, Australian military personnel are continuing to work for a more secure environment and assist with national rehabilitation programs.
