and US forces evacuate the injured

An
Evacuation of tsunami disaster victims from Banda Aceh to a forward
operating base in Medan has heralded the start of successful combined
forces operations between the US and Australian Defence Force.

Health Support Battalion (1HSB) medical personnel in Banda Aceh have
been treating amputees and seriously injured children before their transportation
by trucks to awaiting Aeromedical Evacuation teams (AME).
Patients
were evacuated from the region aboard US Sea Hawk helos and Australian
Army UH-1H Iroquois.
