Memorial service at HMAS Albatross

The Service was an opportunity for HMAS Albatross personnel and the local Nowra community to pay their last respects to the four Sea King aircrew and five medical personnel who lost their lives in the Sea King accident on Nias Island, Indonesia on Saturday, 02 April 2005.

817 Squadron, part of the Navy’s Aviation Force Element Group, is based at the RAN Air Station, Nowra, NSW.

The Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Chris Ritchie and the Maritime Commander, Rear Admiral Rowan Moffitt were in attendance at the service that was officiated by Navy Chaplain Alan Asplin.
