Return of nine Defence members killed in helicopter accident during humanitarian mission in Indonesia.

A ceremony was held on 5 April 2005 at Sydney Airport for the repatriation of nine Defence members killed in a helicopter accident on the island of Nias in Indonesia.

Families of the deceased were joined by the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery; the Prime Minister, John Howard; Chief of the Defence Force, General Peter Cosgrove and the Chiefs of Navy, Army and Air Force.

The Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono awarded the Indonesian Medal of Valour to each of the nine deceased ADF members.
