Senator Sandy MacDonald, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Defence, officially welcomed home personnel from Operation Ramp, the evacuation mission for Australian nationals from Lebanon.

The operation, in support of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, accounted for the safety of more than 6500 Australians and other approved nationals.

About 120 specialist ADF personnel were deployed during Operation Ramp.
