Pakistan Army farewells ADF humanitarian mission
Traditional sword dancing was part of the entertainment when personnel of the Australian Defence Force humanitarian mission in Kashmir under Operation Pakistan Assist were treated to a programme of Pakistan food and culture during a farewell function on 18 February 2006 hosted by the Pakistan Army 25 Mountain Regiment Artillery and 28 Infantry Brigade.

In October 2005 a devastating earthquake sent a shock wave through South Asia. On 11 November 2005, the Australian Defence Force (ADF) deployed a contingent of medical specialists to provide medical assistance to the people of the Dhanni region.

During their deployment ADF personnel successfully treated more than 1,000 injuries and put in place an immunisation program for the children of the Dhanni region which will have benefits many years into the future.
