Al Muthanna Task Group conducting regular patrols

The Al Muthanna Task Group (AMTG) is able to use a combination of infantry and cavalry troops and either the Australian Light Armoured Vehicle (ASLAV) or the Bushmaster high-mobility troop carrier to provide protection for soldiers on patrol.

Using the principle of combined arms, Combat Team Eagle is capable of using the armour and mobility of the two types of vehicles it has at its disposal to move infantry across the area of operations.

The patrols operate at all times of the day and provide the flexibility required to keep the troops protected while they undertake the important function of maintaining security and engaging the local people.
