Australian troops arrive at Al Muthanna Task Group's Camp Smitty
The latest contingent of the Al Muthanna Task Group arrived at Camp Smitty, Iraq, on 01 May 05 to continue the Task Group's preparation for operations in the Al Muthanna province.

The new arrivals included many personnel from 5/7 RAR, four of whom gave their thoughts and opinions on the AMTG deployment in interviews shortly after arriving at Camp Smitty.

The AMTG's mission is to provide security and support for the Japanese Iraq Reconstruction and Support Group and the Australian Army Training Team - Iraq, which will train parts of the Iraqi Army.
