Clearance divers in Sydney Harbour

Supporting Operation DELUGE, the men from Australian Clearance Diver Team's One and Four hunted on the bottom of Sydney Harbour for possible hazards.

As part of ADF support to the New South Wales Police Security effort for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) conference 2007, clearance divers are helping to make sure that Sydney's waterways are safe and secure.

The ADF will act in support of the NSW Police and other government agencies as part of the overall security arrangements for the Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Conference 2007 Leaders' meetings.

The ADF is providing approximately 1500 people along with a range of equipment, as part of Operation Deluge, to support the security aspects of the APEC 07 Leaders' Meetings in Sydney during September.

A range of capabilities will be in place throughout the period of the meetings in support of the New South Wales Police to ensure that Australia stages a safe, secure and successful event for the delegates.
