Operation VIC FIRE ASSIST
16 March 2009
Winding down in Marysville
More than 90 soldiers from Joint Task Force 662 have been searching through properties in the Marysville area in support of the Victoria Police “reasonable search” phase.
The troops moved into Marysville earlier this week after spending 10 days searching in the Kinglake area, where they cleared more than 660 fire damaged and destroyed premises.
The role of Defence in the search phase is expected to be completed shortly.
