Flowedale Hotel gives up gardens for backyard cricket
On a small area of grass amidst the ashes in the bushfire affected town on Flowerdale, soldiers from the Search Task Group have participated in a special game of backyard cricket.
While waiting for the Group’s headquarters to be moved to Kinglake West, the Army Reserve soldiers took up fielding positions in the garden of the Flowerdale Hotel for the clash against the children from local families affected by the fires.
For the record, the junior side won the match.
