Troops team up for fire reduction mission
Soldiers from a Victorian-based Joint Task Force (JTF662) have begun the task of clearing roads in bushfire affected areas, as part of the Australia Defence Force’s commitment to assist Victorian Government agencies with the bushfire crisis response.
Two chainsaw sections from 4 Combat Engineer Regiment (4CER) at Ringwood East, along with heavy plant machinery, are moving through the fire zone, cutting down damaged trees and removing fallen branches and other debris from roads.
