Aussie soldiers support the ANA on a major resupply operation in Uruzgan Province

A large convoy of military vehicles and personnel, including members of the Mentoring and Reconstruction Task Force (MRTF-2), have successfully completed a resupply journey from Tarin Kowt to Kandahar and back. Operation TOR GHAR involved Afghan National Army (ANA), Australian, Dutch and US soldiers to collect vital classes of supply from Kandahar to sustain the soldiers of 4th ANA Brigade through winter.

Commanding Officer of MRTF-2, Lieutenant Colonel Peter Connolly, said the size of the convoy, combined with the ever present insurgent ambush threat along the route between Kandahar and Tarin Kowt made it an extremely significant and challenging operation for 4th ANA Brigade and the mentoring and partnering elements from Task Force Uruzgan (TFU) and MRTF-2.
