Op Slipper white ribbon day
Soldiers on deployment with the Mentoring and Reconstruction Task Force (MRTF-2) in Afghanisan, have shown their support for International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Woman, on 25 November. Known as White Ribbon day, it is the largest effort in the world of men working to end violence against women, with the wearing of the white ribbon seen as a pledge never to commit, condone or remain silent about such violence. The event has been strongly supported by the Australian Defence Force, with Chief of Army, Lieutenant General Ken Gillespie, among the ambassadors for White Ribbon Day.
