Aussie C-17A on the job in Afghanistan
Amberley-based C-17 Heavy Air Lift aircraft have achieved another major capability milestone in their short Air Force careers with the successful delivery of vital stores and equipment to Australian troops based in southern Afghanistan this week.
The C-17, which only started flying with the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) in December 2006, delivered its first load to Australian Army personnel serving with the Mentoring and Reconstruction Task Force- Two (MRTF-2) based at Tarin Kowt in Uruzgan Province, southern Afghanistan.
