Air Force Completes 'EYE in the SKY' mission

The operators of the Control and Reporting Centre (CRC) at Kandahar Airfield have successfully concluded their two year mission in support of both the NATO led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and the US led Operation Enduring Freedom, and have handed control back to the United States Air Force (USAF).

In over two years of operations in Afghanistan, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) members, predominantly from 41 Wing, have provided air battle management and deconfliction for 196,000 coalition aircraft movements, making the airspace some of the world busiest.

The statistic marks an impressive contribution to coalition operations by the RAAF.
