C SQN 5th Aviation Regt
Aircrew of the Rotary Wing Group CH-47D Chinooks conduct pre flight checks before each mission over Afghanistan’s south.
Weapons are loaded, cargo is secured and touch ups are applied to the nose art of ‘Rough n Reddy’.
The aircraft fly thanks to the collective efforts of all the personnel of Rotary Wing Group, including the Technical Support Troop and other support staff.
As outlined in the Defence White Paper, released in early May, the Australian Defence Force will acquire seven CH-47F model Chinooks, as used by the US Army in Afghanistan.
