Operational Mentor and Liaison Teams in Chora Valley

The 1st Mentoring and Reconstruction Task Force, is the first Australian deployment tasked to actively mentor and support the Afghan National Army. The soldiers of the Australian Operational Mentor and Liaison Teams (OMLTs), live, work and conduct operations with their Afghan National Army partners throughout Uruzgan and whilst this mission has its challenges, many close bonds have formed and professional respect is afforded by both sides of this collaboration.

All operations are a partnership between the two nation’s soldiers, as they strive together to ensure a safe and secure future for the people of Afghanistan.
