Mortars in overwatch
Combat Team Tusk is one of the Force Elements of the 1st Mentoring and Reconstruction Task Force. The Mortar section is drawn from the 5th Battalion, the Royal Australian Regiment based in Darwin.
As well as the Infantry soldiers who patrol through the rugged terrain and villages of Uruzgan Province, there are numerous support elements which ensure the security of our forces and are ready to provide protection when a contact occurs.
Mortars provide an accurate and hard-hitting option for the commanders on the ground.
