Combat Team Tusk: Protecting reconstruction operations
In a high-threat environment such as Afghanistan, reconstruction efforts are not possible without a secure work site. In the case of the 1st Mentoring and Reconstruction Task Force (MRTF-1), this protection is provided by the members of Combat Team Tusk.
The Combat Team is a combination of infantry, cavalry, artillery and other supporting elements, whose responsibility is to ensure that their engineers can work in the safest possible environment. This protected reconstruction directly benefits the Afghan people as they strive for a secure and peaceful future.
