Last minute maintenance for ASLAV
Afghanistan is a country that is hard on both personnel and equipment. With the 1st Mentoring and Reconstruction Task Force (MRTF-1) soldiers and their vehicles having made the nearly 200km journey from Tarin Kowt to Kandahar, one Australian Light Armoured Vehicle (ASLAV), required some tender loving care from its crew.
With typical coalition cooperation, Canadian soldiers offered their Digger mates the use of their workshops and chipped in to help replace the vehicle’s power unit.
These repairs, allowed the ASLAV to play its part in the Australian mission to Zabol Province, where it provided security for two vital Australian reconstruction missions.
