Mentoring and Reconstruction Task Force One
Mentoring and Reconstruction Task Force One (MRTF – 1) – commenced operations in October 2008. As part of the ongoing stabilisation and rehabilitation of Afghanistan, MRTF – 1 is continuing the success of Australia’s previous reconstruction efforts but in addition is providing mentoring and liaison support to the Afghan National Army. MRTF – 1 also continues to work on schools, health and Afghan Government facilities. The Australian effort in southern Afghanistan is going from strength to strength and with the new mentoring mission the Australian Defence Force is making a significant contribution to a secure and stable Afghanistan.
