Task Group 633.2

Patrols are conducted around the clock to ensure the security of the Royal Australian Air Force personnel and assets deployed to the Middle East in support of Operations Slipper and Catalyst.

The highly skilled security team are trained to conduct vehicle checks for improvised explosive devices, AP-3C Orion flight line patrols and physical checks to ensure operational security is not breached.

The Task Group 633.2 physical security team comprises members from a variety of specialisations including airfield defence guard, security police, dog handlers, cooks and aircraft technicians.

Operation Catalyst is the Australian Defence Force contribution to the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Iraq.

Operation Slipper is an important component of the Australian Government's commitment to help prevent acts of terrorism around the world.
